Location
 The
cottage is situated amidst terraced rice fields 250 meters outside
the little community of Wongaya-Betan in Penebel, Tabanan.
The village is located in the lower level (500m) of
the Batu Karu mountain (2276m). A 10 mins drive to the north brings
you to the district of Jati Luwih, another picturesque valley of
rice terraces that is worth a visit.
The cottage sits atop rice terraces and commands a
panoramic view of Denpasar city lights at night. During the day,
a magnificent vista of the terraces and the Batu Karu mountain range.
The weather is unsurpassed. It is the same as that
of Bali in general but here, it is
Cooler in the day and colder at nights
During the dry season (Apr-Aug) the skies are clear
and bright ; at night it is starry
During Sep-Mar, clear morning sky and cloudy afternoon
when during wet days; in the evenings the temperature falls
Dress: Bring along a sweater and jeans between May
& Aug
There is a small community of padi farming families some 150m away.
Besides padi farming, theyrear fish, eels and animal husbandry for
their own consumption and sale.
